With the rumour-mill suggesting that Posh were returning to snap up a long term summer target, on loan, to offer some defensive cover, we were not alone in thinking we were going back for the Grimsby Town defender, Ryan Bennett.

Well today it looks like we may, quite possibly, have been wrong.

The name in the frame today is that of the Ipswich Town defender Gareth McAuley

With Roy Keane revamping Ipswich Town but not doing a grand job of it, Gareth has yet to establish himself in the side and Darren Ferguson could quite possibly be looking at a few words in former team mates` ear to swing the deal.

But then again, just like yesterday, we may be completely wrong!
