The King returns to London Road

The King returns to London Road

Peterborough United have turned to their most famous ever goalscorer to bring playoff football to London Road this season.

Ken Charlery is a legend in the truest sense of the word, a goalscorer through and through and a scorer of every type of goal.

Time tends to distill the memories a little, but I remember ‘King Kenny’ as the best striker in my years of watching POSH.

The Harrow Borough assistant manager is taking his coaching badges at the minute but POSH director of football (and I suppose Caretaker Manager!!) Barry Fry phoned him to come down and assist with the coaching.

Charlery who was sold twice by POSH, once to Watford and once to Birmingham City , scored the two most famous Peterborough United goals in a playoff final Wembley win in 1992 and will be used to work with the players for the final two league matches of the season.

The chances that he retired years ago are pretty slim seeing as though he's still there. lol
