Finally that first elusive win, in the Championship, was gotten and could it have come in a more dramatic fashion than in injury time and also after Posh had trailed by two goals at half time.
Darren Ferguson made on change ahead of the clash with Frecklington making way for Coutts with Whelpdale taking his place in the side despite picking up a head knock at Leicester in midweek.
The first half was an absolute disaster for Posh with the visitors scoring twice and both from set pieces.
In the thirtieth minute Gylfi Sigursson fired a free kick past Lewis and three minutes before half time the lead was doubled when Sigursson delivered a free kick into the box for Simon Church to rise unchallenged to head home.
The two set backs must have spurred Ferguson into action because at half time he took off Whelpdale and Diagourage and introduced Frecklington and Keates.
The ploy paid instant dividends when only three minutes into the half Craig Mackail-Smith, from close range, headed home to reduce the arrears.
Matters further improved with fifty four minutes on the clock when a George Boyd through ball saw Aaron Mclean blast his shot through the keeper to make it 2-2.
The eight and a half thousand packed into London Road hoped that Posh would now sweep reading aside but it seemed that the crucial winner would never come.
That is until the ninety-fist minute when a Russell Martin ball into the box was superbly back-heeled home by the boot of Boyd.
Wonderful scenes greeted our first win; scenes of genuine relief now let`s see if we can keep this unbeaten run going and climb up that table.![]()
