QPR 1 Posh 1

Posh returned from West London with a very creditable draw. Indeed, many neutrals would confirm our opinion that Posh were the better of the two sides and possibly deserved to take all three points.

As we`d anticipated, ahead of the clash, Darren Ferguson chose to recall the fit again Chris Whelpdale who did, in the event, do remarkably well to last seventy minutes before having to be withdrawn.

The starting eleven had a familiar look to it with only the midfield engine different from the team that served us so well in our promotion campaign last season.

With only three points to show, from fifteen, ahead of the game Posh were searching for that elusive first win in the Championship. With sixteen minutes gone, Posh got the start they`d have been hoping for when Aaron Mclean rose to meet a cross from Tom Williams. His glancing header beat Cerny in the QPR goal and Mclean had his third goal of the season.

The home side came back strong though and squeezed home an equaliser in the thirty-fourth minute when one of their many loan signings, Wayne Routledge fired home from eight yards out to give him his fifth goal of the season.

As Posh chased a winner in the second half, Darren Ferguson shuffled his pack, the tiring Whelpdale being replaced by Shaun Batt and five minutes earlier George Boyd being replaced by Tommy Rowe.

Despite the application of some pressure the winning goal was not to come and Posh had to make do with a share of the spoils.

Although the disappointment of seeing an injury time goal from Craig Mackail-Smith was hard to swallow!

Next up is another difficult away trip, this time to visit Leicester City.

Could our first win of the season come at the Walkers Stadium? Let`s hope so!

Well done guys, you played very well and could have nicked it with a bit of luck. Unfortunately we at QPR have proven ourselves rather negative at home and nearly paid the price at the end there!
