'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Posh - Lee the Forgotten Hero!

As last season approached its historical climax one player was enjoying the best spell of his career and putting his name up in lights, that player being Charlie Lee.

However, things have not gone according to plan for Charlie this season and instead of becoming a regular in the side his regular habitat is fast becoming the substitutes bench.

But Charlie remains philosophical abut the situation accepting the reasons why he was withdrawn in his last appearance and how he`s set about improving matters in a recent interview with the local media.

This is what Charlie had to say,

'I've learnt the hard way that mediocre performances won't be tolerated and I haven't got a problem with that. I was poor at Preston when I gave away two goals and basically cost us the match.

'I dived in and got beaten for the first goal and then got caught the wrong side of my man for the second goal. The manager called me into his office the following Monday and explained that he now had to leave me out.

'He was right and I've treated it as the kick up the backside I needed. I wouldn't say I was complacent because I always go out on to the pitch determined to play well and give 100 per cent, but maybe I needed a reminder that I have to keep my standards high.

'I've put my head down in training since in the hope that I can get back into the side as soon as possible. I was left out of the side early on last season and came back strongly and that's what I will do again.'

Here at Vital Posh we sincerely hope that history does repeat itself and that Charlie forces his way back into the side and assists us in getting our season up and running.

I kind of miss his buccaneering approach don`t you?
