Posh - Great Expectations!

Posh - Great Expectations!

According to the statistics Derby County had the highest average attendance in the Championship last season, with over 32,000 flocking to Pride Park on a regular basis.

Therefore, Pride Park provides the perfect place for Posh to visit to get a sample of what life, atmosphere wise, in the Championship will be like.

However, Nigel Clough will be looking to improve on their disappointing 18th finish last season and he may well have preferred other opposition on Saturday.

All eyes will be focussed on the side that has won back-to-back promotions with the watching masses looking to see if Posh are now punching above their weight.

But Posh will be up for the battle and after playing some top notch pre-season opposition, the players will be sharp, focused and keen to get the campaign off to a good start.

With the match now a little over forty-eight hours away, there are some wonderful quotes, from Darren Ferguson, in the Peterborough Evening Telegraph, quotes that perfectly sum up just how we all feel about the forthcoming game.

See what you think!

'It's a great starting fixture for us because it will show the lads exactly what they can expect this season."

'We will be up against good opposition in a great stadium in front of a huge crowd. I expect Derby to have a much better season this time around and they are the sort of team that could gather some serious momentum if they have a good start."

'Obviously we want to stop that happening on Saturday and they might not see us as ideal opponents."

'Teams with momentum from the end of the previous season tend to start well and we are certainly one of the clubs who finished well."

'We shouldn't expect anything other than a really tough game though, but we're all looking forward to it, especially as few people will expect us to win.'

Can we win at Derby? Can we get off to that good start we`d all relish?
