'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Posh - Fathers Sons!

As the big build up to our first Championship fixture gets under way the excitement levels are rising.

Although some would have preferred a home fixture to get the campaign under way, a trip to Derby County (former European Champions) does have a romantic edge to it.

Especially when you consider that both clubs are managed by sons of famous fathers.

Ahead of the clash, Nigel Clough has spoken out about the situation in a leading Sunday tabloid, remarking,

"Darren has the major advantage straight away - he has his dad to talk to for advice."

"My dad gave me plenty of when he was alive, but I wish he was still here now to give me some more."

"So Darren has that in his favour, but once the game kicks off it`ll all be forgotten."

"It certainly looks as though Darren has a fair chance of doing as well as his dad."

"It`s staggering to get back-to-back promotions."

"I`ve only met him a few times, but he`s played under his dad and a lot of the principles his dad adheres to, Darren will have adopted as well."

Nigel Clough seems like a nice bloke doesn`t he!

Let`s see if the Derby County manager has the same demeanour come Saturday evening shall we!
