Posh Almost Smash Transfer Record!

Posh Almost Smash Transfer Record!

Yesterday Barry Fry, in an interview given to BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, gave the merest of indications that Posh, if Darren Ferguson requested so, would go and buy a player!

What he gave no indication of was that in buying a player we`d try and smash our transfer record in signing the Millwall centre back, Zak Whitbread.

After signing young Krystian Pearce, on loan, it was suspected that our dealings, with regards to defenders, were over, so the fact that this deal was even mulled over surprised us.

It is believed that the fee payable to Millwall would have been something in the region of £700,000 for twenty-five year old Whitehead if the deal had materialsed.

Some things are destined never to happen though aren`t they?
