Posh - It`d Be Closer under Competition Rules?

Yesterday we ran an article that suggested the losses to Aston Villa and Spurs could be a good thing.

At the moment it sits proudly atop of the News Now Peterborough ratings and the points we made have been picked up upon by the Posh skipper, Russell Martin who has had this to say about the losses in an interview given to the local media.

'Both those teams finished in the top half of the Premier League and although we were beaten on both occasions, we played some decent stuff ourselves at times and took a lot from both experiences which will stand us in good stead."

'These games are all about getting our fitness levels to the point where they need to be for next season and we all had a good workout."

'I also think they were under less pressure than us and I am sure if we played either next season in the cup I can guarantee both games would be a lot closer.'

Closer Russell! We`d be looking to knock them out mate!
