Peterborough - Green To Remain Patient!
All footballers like to climb the ladder when it comes to what division they`re playing in.
They all seek to reach the top level and all harbour ambitions to better themselves.
Last season, when Peterborough signed Dominic Green from Dagenham and Redbridge, Dominic must have thought that he`d made a move up that ladder and that things were looking rosy for him.
Unfortunately, Dominic was, for most of the time, on the periphery of things making a meagre 3 appearances as Peterborough surged towards back-to-back promotions.
But Dominic remained unfazed and in a fascinating interview, given to Radio Cambridgeshire, ahead of our clash with St Albans last night, spoke about last season and the need for patience, remarking,
"Last season was a bit frustrating when I came into the club and didn`t get too many games."
"Obviously Whelpdale having his hernia operation is a bit of a bonus, but I will just have to see how it goes."
"At the moment I`m just fully focussed in being in the team, so if I need to be patient I will be and if my moment comes I`ll look to grab it."
Last night, against St Albans, Dominic played the entire second half and may well have given Darren Ferguson food for thought when it comes to selecting who will fill in for the injured Chris Whelpdale. However, with so many pre-season games ahead of us, we`d imagine there will be stiff competition for that vacant slot.
