'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Posh - Darragh`s Expecting Big Things!

Is it too much too hope for Posh to be involved in a promotion race for the third season on the trot?

Personally I`d be happy to simply consolidate our position in the Championship this season and then drive on in 2010/2011.

However, our owner Darragh MacAnthony is an ambitious man and he`s convinced the current side has the potential to shock a few people.

He`s been quoted in the local media as remarking,

'We have something not a lot of teams have and that is two years of momentum and success achieved by players who have yet to reach their peak"

'I feel we will shock the football world and compete at the top end of the Championship this season. Our club has nothing to fear and hopefully we will play the same style of attacking football and let other teams worry about us and not worry about them."

'It's going to be a massive season for all of us and an enjoyable one. Of course the league is full of the so-called big boys, but history tells us teams like Wigan, Reading, Hull and, of course, Burnley can buck the trend and get to the promised land."

'Fasten your seatbelts Posh fans as you ain't seen nothing yet from this team!'

He`s certainly got me excited!

How long until the new season begins now?
