Posh - Battle for Bennett Continues!

The battle to land the Grimsby youngster, Ryan Bennett, apparently continues.

After having an initial bid rejected, another rejected as derisory, it seems that Posh are refusing to take no for an answer.

It`s being reported that Barry Fry is currently out in Portugal for the chairmen`s conference and is in negotiation with the Grimsby chairman, John Feny.

Or better described by the man himself in the local media,

'I'm out in Portugal at the moment for the chairmen's conference and I have spoken to John Fenty (Grimsby's chairman) and we have upped our original bid. We are now just waiting to get a response."

'We love to bring in young and hungry players who are eager to learn and want to improve themselves at this club, so Bennett does fit the mould in that sense."

'We are going to try to bring him in, but Grimsby feel they have got an asset in the lad and they don't want him to go cheap, which is fair."

'We have now put in a big bid, which isn't cheap by any means and hopefully we will get our man, but if we don't then we will just move on to other targets.'

Could Ryan Bennett soon become our most expensive transfer, following in the footsteps of Joe Lewis?

Keep those ears peeled as we have this nagging suspicion that could be the case!
