Posh - Let`s Do a Burnley?

Posh manager, Darren Ferguson, has drawn up an interesting comparison as we await the publication of the fixtures for next season.

With Posh rated at 33-1 to win the Championship, Darren has noted that one of the sides who were promoted, albeit by the play-offs, Burnley, were a huge 50-1 to win the Championship at this time last year.

Speaking about such a comparison, Ferguson has remarked to the local media,

'I'm not the sort of manager to predict we will win the league, but it's important to have aims and ambitions."

'Burnley won promotion to the Premier League last season and I don't think our squad is a million miles from theirs."

'I certainly don't think relegation will be an issue for us as long as we are as focussed and determined as we have been for the last two seasons."

'Obviously we have taken a big step up in standard now as there are some big clubs in the Championship, but I fully expect us to surprise a lot of them.'

I agree, I think we will surprise a few teams who will not be aware of the skill level within the team and hopefully we can get the kind of start that stand us in good stead for a play-off place challenge.
