It was inevitable really wasn`t it?
As soon as Tony Mowbray was linked with the Glasgow Celtic job you just knew that Darren Ferguson would be amongst the five replacements listed on the short-list.
Thankfully though, if the News of the World has its facts right the hot favourite for the job at 'The Hawthorns` is none other than Alan Shearer.
Shearer is, supposedly, reluctant to commit career suicide by agreeing to manage Newcastle without having the correct tool box to do so.
This in itself is pleasing news because you get the impression that West Bromwich Albion, seeking to make a swift return to the Premier League would not baulk at the level of compensation Posh have previously stated would be needed to lever Darren Ferguson out of London Road.
Also, wouldn`t it have a degree of irony if our manager was lured away by a club we`ve faced numerous times in the last two seasons?
