I guess if there`s one person at London Road who has reason to sit back in a comfy chair and look around and feel a warm feeling then its Barry Fry.
Fry has every reason to look back and wonder just what has been achieved after he dipped deep into hi sown pockets to keep the club going during the dark days, and for that us Posh fans will always be grateful.
Speaking about the back-to-back promotions Posh achieved, Barry is in no doubt as to who should take the majority of the plaudits, Darragh MacAnthony.
In a recent interview, Barry enthused,
'Since Darragh MacAnthony arrived at the football club I feel I have died and gone to heaven."
'The chairman is a football nut who has installed a young, hungry manager and together these two gentlemen have taken us to heights that we could never have imagined or even expected."
'Back to back promotions is a miraculous achievement and it is all down to Darren, his team and the chairman."
'It's great to be a Posh fan right now. The last 10 years had been a great struggle with survival the main objective so I'm delighted that myself and the board of directors were able to keep the club going."
'It really is Roy of the Rovers stuff. The players have been magnificent all season, They are young, hungry and they want to be successful."
'We have been promoted back to back by playing exciting football, scoring lots of goals and creating plenty of chances, but Darren has also installed a tremendous team spirit."
'The team never gives up and if you look back over the season you will find many occasions when they have dug deep and come back from the brink of defeat."
Keep doing what I`ve been doing Barry, pinch yourself mate!" It`s no dream, its reality and it feels marvellous!
