The last two home games have proven, beyond doubt, that five figure crowds can be enticed into London Road.
Therefore, with a higher level of football bringing in more attractive opposition, Darragh MacAnthony has, at a recent question and answer session, suggested that we should be averaging 11,000 next season.
Here at Vital Posh, we have no doubt that the away followings in the Championship will push up the average attendance but if we are to thrive it is essential that the money taken through the gate is on the increase.
Darren Ferguson has already implied that the squad has to have more depth and if that is to be the case the additional staff will push the wage bill up, whilst television money will somewhat offset this, gate revenue remains an integral part of the plan to move onwards and upwards.
Besides, if we are to thrive imagine the noise 11,000 would make week in and week out!
