Posh - In the TV Money!

Posh - In the TV Money!

One of the bug-bears of the lower league clubs is that the vast sum of money poured into the game by the television companies isn`t evenly split.

The lion`s share has always, and I suppose always will, go to the big clubs.

Well, now we`ve moved up the league ladder courtesy of our promotion from League One, it looks as if Posh will benefit more from the television money.

The local newspaper is quoting a figure that, compared to this season is simply mind-boggling.

It`s being claimed that Posh, next season will receive £2.38 million from the television companies and that will be boosted by £100,000 for every game they appear live in.

Now if you compare that with this season whereby we, apparently, received £400,000 with a £30,000 bonus for every live appearance, it truly does appear we`ve hit the jackpot.

But, I have to say, it doesn`t make me feel any better for those languishing from whence we`ve come!
