Posh - Premier League Transfer Targets?

With Darren Ferguson missing the shareholders meeting die to the small matter of tying the marital knot, it was up to our assistant manager, Kevin Russell, to offer a hindsight into the sort of transfer targets Posh may be looking at to bolster the squad.

And the news is good. Having successfully plundered the non-league scene in recent years, Russell is hopeful of luring some Premier League players to London Road to continue with our remarkable progression.

Speaking about matters he had this to say,

'It's been hard persuading players to drop down two divisions from the Premier League, but now we are in the Championship it could be different."

'But I will stress they will have to fit in with the rest of the squad. They would need to be young and hungry like the current players."


So no players looking for a last cushy couple of years then!

Continuing, Kevin remarked,

'A big part of our success over the last two seasons has been the spirit within the squad. They are a tight-knit group and we wouldn't sign anyone who would disrupt that.'

Quite right too, we`ve got a steady shop and we don`t want it rocked.
