Posh - Ferguson Content With A Point
Peterborough might have missed the chance to move to the top of the League One table but Darren Ferguson wasn't overly disappointed at only getting a point against Cheltenham.
The surprise 1-1 draw, gifted to Cheltenham courtesy of a mistake by the usually excellent 'keeper Joe Lewis, with the League One's bottom side at London Road meant the chance to top the table was missed.
However after winning seven matches prior to this the Peterborough manager wasn't about to be overly critical of his side: 'I'm not going to start being critical of my players after 42 games when we find ourselves a point off the top and six points clear of the team in third place,' said Ferguson after the match. 'Of course it's disappointing not to have picked up a win, but we are still in a great position and our destiny is in our hands. I actually felt our performance was pleasing. We hit the woodwork, had the odd break not go our way and on another day might have had four or five goals.'
Like Ferguson said himself on another day his side would have won, but then again they might've lost and that would've been even worse.
Winning the title is something that Ferguson will want, but just to achieve promotion to the Championship will please him and the club are still very much on course for this.
