Posh - Our Captain on Beating Northampton!

Posh - Our Captain on Beating Northampton!

Russell Martin did a splendid job on Saturday!

Our captain forced to move to centre back after the sending off of Zakuani, did a fine job in trying to nullify the threat posed by the Northampton attack.

After the game, he freely admitted that it was a huge win and gave an indication, in the local media, into how it was greeted by the players, remarking,

'I am a very proud captain. To pull off such a vital win with 10 men in a derby match speaks volumes for the character and ability within the squad."

'To see the celebrations after the game, you'd think we'd already won promotion. The dressing room was buzzing and winning promotion probably won't taste any better."

'It's an absolutely huge win and will give us confidence to push on again now. We've had a hectic run of fixtures, but we've come through with flying colours."

Indeed, it`s kind of strange not to have to contemplate a midweek match this week isn`t it!
