Our hectic schedule continues with a fixture against Southend United.
After taking maximum points in our midweek game against Carlisle, the Southend fixture gives Posh the chance to cement their claims for that second automatic promotion place.
Indeed, if results go our way this Saturday, we could be elevated to second place, but let`s not go counting our chickens yet.
The midweek win, whilst most welcome, has given Darren Ferguson a couple of problems.
Gabriel Zakuani, who landed heavily on his neck and was carried away on a stretcher, is not likely to feature as the injury is still sore. We suspect that the ft-again Shane Blackett may well deputise.
Also, Lee Frecklington, our loan signing from Lincoln City, picked up a hamstring problem in the same game, his absence may cause Darren to do a mino reshuffle formation wise.
However, there may be one welcome face returning in the shape of Tom Williams. After having surgery, Williams is rumoured to be in contention for a place in the squad which is good news for Posh.
As for our visitors, Southend, they`ll definitely be without the injured Alex Revel, James Walker, Dougie Freedman and Francis Laurent. However, it looks as if Lee Barnard and Theo Robinson will lead the attack
So what about a result?
Here at Vital Posh we reckon this game will go our way, possibly by a two goal margin with our striking duo of Craig Mackail-Smith and Aaron McLean being too much of a handful for the Southend defence.
Hopefully, there will be more than the 5000 who saw the Carlisle win on Tuesday to see Posh leap-frog MK Dons into second place.
