Brighton v Posh Preview!

After the loss to Huddersfield on Saturday, albeit by a narrow 1-0 margin, Posh have a chance to redeem themselves with a visit to the Withdean Stadium to face Brighton and Hove Albion.

The match, as you`re probably all aware, could be affected by the snowy conditions that are sweeping across England and bring the country to a standstill.

However, we`re prepared to look on the bright side of life and forge on ahead regardless hoping that the fixture will get given the go-ahead even if journeying to and from the Sussex town promises to be a nightmare.

It`s a clash that Posh must win, to suffer two failures on the road in the space of four days will see pretensions to occupy one of the two automatic promotion places seriously questioned.

The poor first half performance, against Huddersfield, will have given Darren Ferguson plenty to mull over. Why did it happen? Can we prevent a repeat? Was it just one of those things? Are all questions that must be running through his mind!

However, we can see little reason to make any serious changes to the starting eleven. The likes of Tom Williams, Jamie Day and Shane Blackett are all still not available. Perhaps one change may see the inclusion of Andrew Crofts from the start whilst new signing, Ben Wright, may be afforded a place on the bench as he contemplates his first start in League One football.

So what of the opposition? Brighton are fresh off of a win against Hartlepool on Saturday coming from a goal behind to take all three points.

However the Sussex club are loitering just above the relegation places and their home form is nothing to write home about. Having played thirteen home fixtures they`ve won a miserly three, losing six and drawing four. As far as goals are concerned they`ve scored seventeen and let in twenty-two.

So, here in the Vital Posh office, how, if the game gets the go-ahead, do we see things turning out?

Our form in the past nine months has been superb, we very rarely lose two games on the trot and we don`t think that will be the case this time around. It may be a close affair but we`re taking Posh to get back to winning ways courtesy of a narrow win, possibly 2-1!
