Posh - No New Faces - Why!

Earlier this week, we reported upon how Darren Ferguson had, reputedly, turned down the offer from his chairman for the recruitment of any of five players that were rated at approximately £500,000 each.

Last night, after Posh had fought back to snatch the points in a six goal thriller at London Road, Darren provided the perfect quote that probably sums up why he feels there is no need to bring anyone else into the squad when he remarked,

"There is so much character in the dressing room - that`s why I`m not signing more players."

Harmony in the dressing room is something that is cultivated over a period of time, perhaps the infusion of a couple of new faces might well have, temporarily, changed matters.

I guess we`ll never know now!

agree characters and a good dressing room is very important and you can't argue with the gaffer wtih the results we are getting, but have never heard of a manager saying they didn't want any new players? It is a long season, hope this decision doesn't come back to bite us.

looks like he was playing a game of poker - just signed the hottest property in non league in Ben Wright, follows on from Boyd, McLean and Mackail-Smith as those who can make the grade and the step up from non-league!
