Posh - The One That Got Away!

Last night, at London Road, Jay Simpson produced the sort of display that made you realise just what a gem nearly arrived at Peterborough on loan.

Simpson showed some great touches and his silky skills gave West Brom that added dimension that might well play a role in keeping then in the Premier League, and to think Posh came so close to securing Simpson on loan from Arsenal.

It`s no wonder that those trying to do the deal, behind the scenes, were majorly disappointed when a club from a higher league came sniffing around.

In the harsh reality of the real world, once West Brom were involved in the race to sign him, we never actively stood a chance.

Looking at how things might have turned out though, with Simpson in the side, you get the feeling our promotion drive might well have benefitted no end.

A missed opportunity or simply the way things go!
