'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Posh - Darragh Rounds On His Critics!

The credit crunch has seen persistent rumours relating to the personal circumstances of our owner Darragh MacAntony appear on various web sites.

Here at Vital Posh we`ve always tried to steer away from such gossip, we`ve always believed such matters are Darragh`s business and not ours.

Therefore, we`ve taken the obvious chance to print quotes from Darragh that appear in the Peterborough Evening News in order to allow Darragh to clarify the situation.

Take it away Darragh, and hopefully those who continue to offer untruths will now finally shut up!

'I have always enjoyed reading the forum and seeing the good and bad views from fans on the goings on at Posh, but imagine my astonishment reading some of the rubbish posted over the last couple of days about me and my company and the club itself. "

'Let me cover a few points that have been posted: We have spent over 1.5 million pounds in the last 12 months on transfer fees and I have never failed to back the manager, but now all of a sudden because he is happy with what he has got, it's time for the alarm bells?"

'Our fans need a reality check and also need to understand that we have over 34 players on our wage bill, when our pre season target was to have a healthy squad of 24 and no more."

'Of course its tough out there for everyone and we, like everyone else, have to cut our cloth accordingly, but that doesn't mean there are problems."

'The club is well over budget and that is why this window is the perfect opportunity to move on players that the gaffer does not want in his team."

'MRI has not vanished. It is still in operation big time and has just finished delivering over 1200 Ski Apartments in Bulgaria, unlike many other developers who could not afford to finish their projects."

'My company is focusing on developing throughout 2009. I have clients who read comments like this and start to panic and this effects me financially which in turn could effect Posh financially."

'I am still the Chairman and if anything I am spending more time working and travelling then I have for over 3 years."

'You guys are meant to support the football club and to a certain extent me as well, so why come up with comments that you have no concrete evidence to back them up with?'

Now, no more rubbish please folks, put your trust in Darragh, he knows what he`s doing!
