Posh - No January Transfers?

Posh - No January Transfers?

If any Posh supporters are expecting a splurge of transfer activity now that the transfer window is officially open, they could be in for a major disappointment.

It`s being reported, in the Peterborough Evening Telegraph, that there is unlikely to be any transfer activity at all with Darren Ferguson seemingly happy with the squad he has got.

Possibly the only major exception could be if a top class striker if one becomes available, however, I can`t help thinking we`ll rue the missed opportunity to snap up Jay Simpson.

Talking to the local media about matters, Darren had this to say,

'We are not interested in signing players for the sake of it and the players who would improve our squad are just not out there.

'I have a lot of faith in the current squad and they deserve the chance to turn our fourth place into something even better.

'I had a great meeting with the chairman about all sorts of things and we both believe we can go up without signing extra players.'

Personally, I have no reason to doubt the sentiments, expressed by Darren, as he`s not let us down before has he!

This whole "Fergie is happy with the squad he's got" thing is a great cover for the fact MacAnthony has been hit hard by the credit crunch and is running out of cash. Hard break, Poshies. ;)
