'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Posh - No Fear Principle at West Brom!

Although many of you will no doubt be heading off to various binges tonight to ply yourselves with booze as the New Year approaches, many of us will be contemplating the first game of the New Year.

And in all honesty, it couldn`t be much bigger as Posh travel to the Hawthorns to take on West Bromwich Albion (can I hear cries of what again from the back?).

Posh and West Brom are no strangers when it comes to cup football and the Midlands side currently have the upper hand, However, Craig Mackail-Smith believes Posh can spring a surprise.

In an interview with the local media, Mackail-Smith sowed the seeds for a memorable day by commenting,

'We go there with nothing to lose and who knows the game could be played to suit us. We are a great counter-attacking team capable of catching anyone on the break with our pace."

'West Brom will start favourites and rightly so, but we are not going there expecting to get beaten. It's going to be a great occasion in front of a big crowd and we aim to enjoy it."

'We have got some momentum going in the league again and we want to carry that into the Cup.'

With Gabriel Zakuani expected to return to the fold, it promises to be a great day out.

I guess if you were to play one Premier League team with a view to beating them why not pick the team who are currently bottom!

my thoughts exactly, perhaps they're more interested in survival than a good cup run!
