Posh - AFC Hornchurch Build Up Begins

It`s the build up to the first round of the greatest domestic cup competition in the world, the FA Cup.

It`s a weekend whereby some teams will see their last remaining dream of success this season evaporate inside ninety minutes, others might venture to a replay whilst others will be left to contemplate the harsh reality of a first round cup exit.

For those, like ourselves, who face non-league opposition, the nagging fear is always at the back of your mind that you could be the victims of a cup exit, that you could find your name plastered all over the back of the sports pages.

Inevitably, those teams, like ourselves, who are in the upper half of the table are wary of the fact that they could be the Goliath that meets their David. History is littered with those clubs who have fallen by the wayside and it would take a brave man to blatantly declare Posh will not fall victim to such a catastrophe.

AFC Hornchurch will be eagerly awaiting the clash this Sunday and Darren Ferguson will be keen to divert attention from the tie until later this week and when the focus does fall upon Sunday an attitude of respect will be the way forward.

Even so, I can`t wait for it, can you?
