With yet another club left manager-less, thanks to the Spurs / Portsmouth merry-go-round, Darren Ferguson will be a name dropped into the conversation.
The Posh manager is steadily making something of a name for himself and the 4-0 drubbing of Huddersfield Town will have made a few more directors sit up.
Here at Vital Posh, we`d like to think that Darren will show a degree of loyalty, after all he`s building something here that is a little bit special and thanks to our owner, could develop into something tasty as we seek promotion for a second successive season.
After the 4-0 win, over Huddersfield, Darren spoke to the official site and had this to say,
"That is 10 games unbeaten and the second successive clean sheet and I am naturally very pleased. The performance was good and unlike Tuesday night this time we got the goals that our play deserved. It was important to score early, we started at a good tempo and I thought we created a number of realy good opportunities."
"Aaron was chomping at the bit to start and he obviously showed what he is all about with two goals. I think George would have won a penalty had he not laid the ball back into the path of 'Macca` and Aaron finished as we know he can. He got a bit lucky with his second but of you don`t shoot you don`t score."
"I thought George was excellent again and it was a good team performance everyone played their part. It was great to get another clean sheet and at 1-0, we had to defend because they did cause one or two problems. Joe Lewis made a couple of excellent saves and I thought his handling in poor conditions was first class."
Times really are sweet at London Road at the moment.
