Lee Agrees New Four-Year Deal (In Principle!)

Charlie Lee has been offered a new four-year deal by Peterborough as reward for the past that he played in the clubs promotion from League Two.

The midfielder played a pivotal part in helping the club gain their first promotion in eight-years, and as such director of football Barry Fry believes that he has more than earned this new contract offer: 'Charlie had a magnificent season last year, he came in and played in a variety of positions for the manager,' Fry told the official website. 'He scored eight or nine goals from midfield, he is only 21 years old and the experience he has gained this season will make him one hell of a player for next year.'

This new four-year deal has been agreed in principle, it just requires Lee to sign on the dotted line, but Fry doesn't foresee any problems, he added: 'We spoke to Charlie about a new four-year deal and it has been agreed in principle.

'It's just a case of sitting him down and getting him to sign the document; I don't see there being any problem.'

Lee was a signing from Tottenham last summer; he played in 42 of the clubs League Two fixtures so this shows how important he is to the club and just why they are so keen to tie him down to a longer-term contract.
