Joe Lewis Eyeing More England Caps
Joe Lewis made his England U21 debut against Wales during the 2-0 win over Wales on Thursday, and now the Peterborough 'keeper is looking for more involvement and he hopes to impress Fabio Capello and Ray Clemence along the way: 'It was nice that Mr Capello and Ray Clemence were in the stand,' Lewis told BBC Sport. 'Hopefully it is the first of many caps for my country and I look forward to playing regularly in the future.'
Lewis came on as a second half substitute, replacing Joe Hart, and with Hart being called into the senior squad the 20-year-old could get the extended run he is looking for, he added: 'Joe Hart wished me well at half-time and told me to play my normal game which is what I did.
'It was a great evening for me and a good way to end the season.'
How far do you think Lewis can go? Could he one day make the senior squad and follow in the footsteps of his fellow U21 'keeper Hart?
